Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (HGST) have today announced a new Enterprise Class drive in both 3GB/s Serial Attatched SCSI (SAS) and 4GB/s Fibre Channel flavours.  The drives are recommended for mission critical, 24/7 applications and multi user access.

The drive, imaginatively named, Ultrastar 15K450 offers enterprise class features, an average seek time of 3.6 milliseconds and an average latency of 2 milliseconds.
