LG Korea, Pending Hard Disk Release Posted: Mon, 21 Jul 2008 - 19:13 Tags: LG, Korea, Personal Storage, Hard Drive, SATA, FLASH Memory, XD1 Consumer electronics manufacturer LG are poised to release a new range of portable storage devices, this one is Korea only, at least for the time being... Bookmark and Share Long-term consumer electronics manufacturer LG, better known for its Television, computer monitor and Mobile Phone product lines has entered the hard disk drive storage market with a line of portable hard disk drives with the XD1 range.

The stylish devices are USB 2.0 enclosures hiding 2.5" SATA II hard disks in capacities of 120 GB, 160 GB, 250 GB and 320 GB varieties.

The product will only be released in Korea, at least initially, but may indicate an intention to diversify LG's product lines into consumer storage solutions.  LG already offer USB Flash Memory devices, higher capacity, rotating disk based storage seems like a logical step forward.

No details of price are currently available.  Any news on expanded release or growth of the storage offerings of LG can be found here as soon as it is announced.
