Earlier this year, I copied my extensive collection of blues CD’s – over 1000, onto an external hard drive, I then sold the CD’s, mistakenly confident that my music files (approximately 12,000 songs) were “safe”.

Imagine my heart-stopping dismay when I discovered two months later that the external hard drive was no longer functioning.
